The Shivapuri hiking adventure starts with a short drive from Kathmandu to Budhanilkantha, just 30 minutes away.
When you get there, you'll feel the fresh air and see the green surroundings, a great break from the city. Your guide will show you the trail, which goes through forests filled with pine trees and rhododendrons, making it a peaceful place.
Then, it’s time to start hiking! As you go up, you'll see amazing views of Kathmandu Valley and the tall Himalayan mountains. The higher you get, the better the views!
After hiking for about 4–5 hours, you’ll reach Shivapuri Peak at 2,732 meters. At the top, you can enjoy the views, take a break, and take pictures of the beautiful scenery. There’s also a small stupa and colorful prayer flags blowing in the wind, making the place even more peaceful.
After spending some time at the peak, you’ll start going down. The hike back takes about 3–4 hours, so you’ll have another chance to enjoy the beauty of the park and maybe spot some wildlife or plants you missed earlier.
Once the hike is over, you'll return to Budhanilkantha, where a vehicle will be waiting to take you back to Kathmandu. You’ll head back to the city, feeling happy and full of great memories from your Shivapuri hike.
