The Jamacho hike starts with a short 15-30 minute drive from Kathmandu to Phulbari Gate near Balaju Bypass. Once we arrive, you’ll feel the fresh air and see the green surroundings, a perfect break from the busy city. Your guide will show you the trail, which leads through a beautiful pine forest where you might spot birds flying around.
Then, it’s time to begin hiking! As you climb higher, you’ll be treated to amazing views of the Kathmandu Valley and, on clear days, mountain ranges like Annapurna, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, Langtang Lirung, and Dorje Lakpa. The higher you go, the better the views!
After hiking for a few hours, you’ll reach the famous Jamacho Monastery and an old cave decorated with colorful prayer flags. At the top, you can take a break, relax, and snap pictures of the stunning scenery.
Once you’ve had some time to enjoy the views, we’ll start heading back down the trail. The hike back gives you another chance to take in the beauty of the forest and maybe spot wildlife or plants you missed earlier.
When the hike is finished, we’ll drive you back to your hotel, leaving you with great memories of a peaceful day in nature.
